Annual General Meeting Update and Photos

Last Wednesday's AGM was well-attended by business and property owners from the downtown core, as well as those adjacent to the core who are interested in becoming part of the BIA.
Among the presenters at the meeting were Ilidia Samelo, Deputy Clerk of Cambridge, who informed the group on the process and procedures involved to request a boundary extension of the core.
Michael Baskett (pictured, left) introduced himself as the Street Outreach Worker for the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank. Michael's mandate is to provide a tangible resource for street people. His job is also to intercede with street people on behalf of business and property owners. Michael can be found in the downtown core on alternate Thursday and Tuesday afternoons.

Councillor Rick Cowsill (on far right, beside Trevor McWilliams, Senior City Planner) presented his vision for a marketing plan for downtown Hespeler.
This resulted in a motion, by those in attendance, to approve the plan in principal and support the formation of a Marketing Committee that reports to the BIA Board of Directors.

After all of the presentations and budget discussions, there was still plenty of time for networking, mixing and mingling. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the warm atmosphere and good food at Ernie's RoadHouse. Plan to attend next January, when it will be time to vote in a new Board of Directors!
